A Face Lift!

Well, I decided to give my blog a facelift.  Lucy pointed the way for me to find some cool backgrounds, so I thought I would give it a try.  Of course, the banner no longer fits, but I will keep trying new backgrounds and banners until I am happy with how they look together.  Keep in mind, I am really dumb when it comes to Photo Shop Elements, so it may take a while!  Feel free to leave comments on what you think!!

A Productive Weekend....

It was a FABULOUS weekend with Lucy and Betty!  The only problem was that it went by way too fast!  It has been a busy scrappy week and I think I got some nice stuff done.  Here's a sneaky-peek!!

This was for the crop at ScrapbookDoodle.  It is a crop where you can only use scraps.  And, on this one I had to do a 6X12 page about ME using only scraps that Lisa sent me.  Thanks, Lisa!!

This was also for the crop at Doodle.  The challenge was to use hand stitching.  So, I did the large circle.  All I can say is, I need a sewing machine!!  LOL!

This was a sketch challenge for Magistical Memories.  I loved the sketch and of course, love the subject of the page!

And, this was also done for Doodle.  It was a challenge to use a sketch by Becky Higgins.  I love how it came out!  Mr. Cool at his best!!
I hope everyone out there is well.  Here it is the perfect snowy, scrappy Sunday.  Have a great day!!

A Stormy Day!!!

Happy Snow -Day!!  It was wonderful to have the phone ring at 4:30am to tell me that I could shut the alarm off and stay home today.  Ahhhh.....sometimes living in Maine in winter pays off! I have been puttering around the house this morning baking banana bread, picking up the kitchen, chatting with friends and starting to do some re-organizing down stairs.  While I have been puttering away, TWO storms have raged on.  TWO storms you ask??  Yup!  One outside....and one inside!

Here is what the storm OUTSIDE looks like:
And here is what the storm INSIDE looks like!!
I think they have darn near every toy they own out!!  But, they are having a great time together and giggling non-stop.  I LOVE SNOW-DAYS!!!

Dear Memere....

Well, I have finished the Christmas present for my sweet Memere...better late than never, right?!!  For those of you who don't know what a Memere is, she is my grandmother.  Memere is the French-Canadian word for "Grammy."  She is super special and still going strong at 89.  Getting her a gift is always hard because she has everything she needs and really doesn't have room for more knick-knacks.  So, I decided to bug my cousins for pictures so I could make her a "brag book" of all of her 9 Great-Grand children.  I used mostly "school photos" because they are the perfect size (and that's what they sent me  :) ).

I am only posting a few of the pages here.  If I get permission from my cousins, I will add their kids' pages later.  For now, you have the cover...

I need to interject some thanks here--->  Thank you, Libby for helping me with how to make this cover!!  It came out beautifully!!  You rock, girlie!!
I wanted to include this page.  It is the back page of the album and has my little note to her along with a photo.  Isn't she gorgeous!!??!!
Here is Colby's page:
And, here is Elizabeth's page:
I used a Bo Bunny 6"X6" chipboard 3-ring binder album.  And, I used mostly scraps for the pages.  I learned a lot doing my first mini album, that's for sure!  I will do some things differently next time, but I think Memere will love it, just the same!

Thanks for looking!!!

Year in Review....

Well, it's the last day of 2008, and before I start cooking meatballs and cleaning toilets for our little party tonight, I decided to take a moment to reflect on the year.  It was full of lots of fun and adventures.  And, what better way to share some of our adventures than to show you some of the layouts from the last year?!  I knew you would agree!!

One of the fun things we did was to go bowling for the first time.  We had a BLAST, and wouldn't you know it, Elizabeth beat us all....TWICE!!  Bowling is definitely on our agenda for the year 2009!!

The kids took their first swimming lessons in 2008 and they LOVED it!  We were amazed at how quickly they took to the lessons and at how quickly they learned.  They were already pretty comfortable in the water, but now they are super comfortable and you should see them when we go to Auntie's Beach, or Dennis's house!  It's a blast!

We also decided to take up camping in 2008.  So, we bought ourselves a tent.  Not just any tent, mind you, a HUGE tent!!  We were only able to go camping once in 2008, but we will be doing lots more in 2009.  Santa was even thinking about it when he brought the kids camping mattresses and camping chairs (which have quickly become Wii chairs!).

Colby has continued to grow his love of baseball.  We had baselines and a pitcher's mound worn into the lawn by early June.  He got his first real glove and practiced A LOT!  He is, of course, a Red Sox fan, but at one of the Mainer's games we went to, he also became a big fan of the Manchester Silkworms!  The first baseman and the catcher were handing him gameballs through the net and he was SOLD!

I can't believe how quickly Miss Elizabeth is growing up into a young lady.  She is LOVING first grade and I think it's safe to say that first grade is loving her, too!  I love these photos of her when she was "workin' the camera" just as summer was coming to a close.  They show how beautiful (and sassy) she is!  She continues to become smarter and more beautiful every day.

There were so many more adventures in 2008:  Mimi and Papa moved a LOT closer to us (YAY!), Colby played on a REAL soccer team, Elizabeth had her second (of many) dance recital, we visited Grammy and her horses, camping with the Webber's,and SO much more.  But, most importantly 2008 was a happy, healthy year for the Wise family.  We hope 2009 will be the same for us, and for you!
Happy New Year!!

25 Moments...

I did this Layout last night for a challenge at WeScrap.  I am very happy with how it came out and I am pretty sure that 25 photos on one Layout is a new record for me.  I also love that this layout highlights how much fun we had on Christmas morning!

Welcome to my World!

I have finally decided to start a blog.  It's about time the world know more about how exciting my little life really is!  And now I can feature some of my scrappy stuff and share more about my little family with friends and family.    I hope that you enjoy all the madness to come!

Please leave a comment so I know you were here!
