You're kidding, right?!?!

It can't actually be the very last July evening of the year, can it?!  Maybe if we all be REALLY quiet, August won't find us.  So, ok everyone.... SHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

While we are here being REALLY quiet, I thought I'd share the work that I did for A Walk Down Memory Lane this month.  Apparently I was feelin' the cards this month!  Thankfully I have one more month to enjoy at AWDML and will be cranking out lots of layouts, for sure!

First, a fun card that I made using the Echo Park Happy Summer Collection Pack!

And, this one features the acutal notes to "Happy Birthday" on it!  Isn't that fun?!?!

Chevrons are SO IN right now!  I shared a fun and easy tutorial on how to create these chevrons using your scoring board.  You can see it HERE.  I used the American Crafts Chap line on this one.

This is hanging in my dining room and I've already received LOTS of compliments on it!  It is a large chipboard letter from Making Memories.  Then I covered it with small photos and mounted it in a frame on black cardstock.  You can see some detailed photos and all of the steps HERE on the AWDML Blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I already have lots more to share with you, but you'll just have to come back to see!

Altered Friends Frame

Hey, everyone-- this is the post that's shared on the Momenta Blog today! I'm excited to share this fun frame with you!
I started with a simple $1.00 wooden frame and painted it black. Then, I punched LOTS of circles out of some bright pink cardstock. Often, I would only punch a half or partial circle so that they would go on the edge of my frame and I wouldn't have to worry about trimmimg them later. I glued them on to my frame to create the fun polkadot look. Then, I went a little crazy and covered the WHOLE thing in glossy accents to give it an epoxy look. It took about a day and a half to dry (torture for those of us who are impatient!), but I LOVE the results!
I'll admit, my work wasn't perfect. There were some bubbles in the finish, but that was easily fixed with some blingy stickers! And, I also added the large title sticker. I put all of the stickers on while the glossy accents was still soft and tacky to make sure that they stayed put for a good long time!
The last thing added was the photo of these two goofy girls that they took of themselves!

The large sticker is puffy with some bling already on it! It's perfect for this project, but will also be perfect as a title on a layout!

My daughter just LOVES this frame and can't wait to display it proudly in her room. Now, I'll probably have to make another one for her friend!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed the project!

My First BOAF Reveal!!

I'm super excited to share my first Birds of a Feather Kit Club reveal with you today! This August Kit is so amazing and full of beautiful papers and fun embellishments!

My layout is about my daughter with a photo I took of her at the end of last summer. It's acutally infront of the Target shopping center a few towns over. I was drving by and thought, "Hmm... that rock wall would make a cool backdrop for photos." Then I looked over and saw my camera peeking out of my purse, so I stopped and took pics of my (slightly horrified) kids while cars whizzed by in and out of the shopping center! Hey, you can't pass up a good photo op, right?!?!

Even though the photo session might have been a bit traumatic, she loves the layout that will go in her album, especially the poem that I wrote!

**My Layout is based on a sketch by Lucy Chesna.
See the brown? That's actually not paper that's included in the kit-- it's the packaging for some of the embellishments included in the kit! Don't be afraid to use it all! Check out how it popped the circle where the title is!

And, I'm loving the little canvas banner pieces! I thought it was perfect to record her age at the time this photo was taken!

And, finally, check out the beautiful flower!! The color matches perfectly and I added some quickly cut cardstock leaves to make a perfect finishing touch for the layout! Don't you just love the giant pearl?!

I also want to share a card with you today! I love the yellow paper that came in the kit and thought it would be perfect for a bright, feminine card. And, the Washi tape and flower are a perfect match! Again, I cut some quick leaves from some of the patterned paper and voila-- a pretty card!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope it gave you some ideas on how to use the fabulous August Kit!

Sweet 'N Sassy

My daughter LOVED her tap costume for this year's recital! And, it was perfect for her- sassy, sparkly, red and covered with stars! Every year before the recital, we stop at the park for a quick photoshoot. This year's photos came out gorgeous and I just can't get over how beautiful my little girl is!

The new Scrappin' Sports & More collection, "Sports & Activities," has a great "dance" themed paper with tap on the front and ballet on the back. I love that the tap one is black and white because no matter the costume, the paper will go with it!

Helping Hands. Happy Hearts

This is my layout that is featured on the Momenta blog today!

This past April, we were lucky enough to be invited by our friend Anne to help her cook a dinner for the guests of the Ronald McDonald House in Portland, Maine. It was an incredible experience for us all. We made our whoopie pies that morning and brought them with us for dessert and then cooked a yummy dinner for about 30 people while we were there. While things were cooking bubbling away on the stove, we had the chance to take a tour of the facility and to sit and talk to a few of the families. We were lucky enough to see photos of their kids who were in the hospital and offer some comfort through hugs and yummy food.

We had a wonderful time but most importantly, my kids were able to experience the wonderful feeling you can only get by helping others. If you have an opportunity to find a Ronald McDonald House in your area to volunteer at, I urge you to do so! You won't regret it!

I loved the primary colors found in the Family Outings paper pad and thought they would work perfectly for this project!

Here's a closeup of the title using some of Momenta's fabulous puffy alphas! They are the perfect size for titles and their puffiness gives some great dimension!

And, here's another closeup where I covered a Basically Bare cardboard heart with some embossed cardstock and added more yummy Momenta stickers for a subtitle.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you were inspired to not only do something creative, but also to do something for others!

Beware: Doodle Guard Dog on Duty!

Happy July, everyone!  It's been a beautiful week here and there's no end in sight!  We've been enjoying every minute of the holiday week and can't wait for more!

I wanted to share one of my latest layouts with you-- It was on the AWDML Blog last week.  Our sweet Duffy loves to sit on the deck and keep an eye on the neighborhood.  The most he would do is tackle and lick anyone, but he seems to think his job is pretty important!

Here's a close up of the title work and the "on duty" sign that I made.  I used fabric thickers, and natural chipboard thickers that I inked to match the Bella Blvd "Tail Waggers & Cat Nappers" collection that I used.

My Sketch World meets Momenta

Hey, everyone!  It's reveal time at My Sketch World!  Using Lucy's July sketch, this simple, but beautiful card that can come together in just minutes using Momenta's Black Tie Scrapbook Pad. The pad includes beautiful textured cardstock and 5 sheets of punch outs that include letters, numbers, card sentiments and images. They are all just gorgeous in black and white with touches of silver. Everything you need is right in one easy pack!

Using the sketch, I created this card for a wedding. Isn't it gorgeous? The touch of red just makes it POP! The flower image is one of the punchouts from the Black Tie Scrapbook Pad. I simply popped it with some foam tape and added a small red bow and POW! The red gem stickers are also Momenta products!

This is the inside of the card! Check out the beauty of the embossed cardstock! And, the oval shaped sentiment is also another punchout from the Black Tie Scrapbook Pad! It could be used on a layout, as well!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you were inspired!  Check out what the rest of the My Sketch World's DT did with the July Sketches on the MSW Blog!
